Well Child Visits

The Academy of Pediatrics recognizes that each child and family is unique: therefore, recommendations for preventative pediatric health care are designed for children who have no manifestations of any important health problems, and are growing and developing in satisfactory fashion. Developmental, psychosocial, and chronic disease issues for children and adolescents may require frequent counseling and treatment visits separate from preventive care visits. Our doctors and nurse practitioners follow the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Bright Futures.

Our providers recommend exams at:

3 to 5 days old, following discharge home from the hospital
2 weeks old
2 months old
4 months old
6 months old
9 months old
12 months old
15 months old
18 months old
2 years (24 months) old
2½ years (30 months) old
Beginning at age three (3) years, your child should be seen yearly for an annual checkup through age 21 years.
